West Ham handed massive boost as journalist claims their top Summer target “fancies the move”.

Although it is unanimously agreed that West Ham need a complete overhaul of their central defenders this Summer, fans have been divided over how the money should be spent.

While their opinion ultimately holds no bearing over who the club will sign, many have been left a bit underwhelmed with the amount of the transfer budget they will have to spend to sign Max Kilman.

However, he is clearly someone Julen Lopetegui is desperate to sign and, therefore, the recruitment team are actively pursuing a deal. With two bids rejected though, journalist Dean Jones says the Hammers will need to part with “another £20 million” in order to sign the defender, despite the player being keen on the move.

“West Ham have been stepping up the Kilman interest in recent days because they expect there is going to be more competition for him if they do not move fast,” he explained to GIVEMESPORT. “Making an opening offer now gives them a chance to discover how far they are from Wolves’s genuine valuation of the player and whether they can come up with the money. Lopetegui is very much behind this signing and a big fan of the player, but he is aware that the club won’t simply cave in to Wolves’ demands.”

“Realistically West Ham need to find another £20 million to satisfy Wolves financially but I am told Kilman quite fancies this move, so that could add another intriguing layer to how this plays out.”

In today’s market, to get a bang average Premier League player you have to spend £25-30 million so Wolves are pretty fair in their evaluation really. He’s their club captain and they won’t want to lose him, but if the two clubs can meet in the middle at around £35 million that would be a good deal for everyone involved.
