West Ham have reportedly agreed terms with a winger ahead of a potential move, but there could be major problems in completing the signing.

Despite needing a striker and a centre-back more than anything else this Summer, West Ham have already signed one winger in Luis Guilherme and they are keen on signing another one soon.

As usual, the Hammers are considering multiple options to evaluate who’s the best bang for their buck and one potential suitor is Jota Silva. The Portuguese winger managed 16 goal involvements in 33 Liga Portugal games last season, attracting attention from many clubs.

According to Fanatik, not only is Silva keen on the move, but he’s also agreed personal terms with the East London side. Despite this, there are a couple of issues that could stop the deal altogether.

Despite having a release clause of just £17 million, the Hammers are apparently reluctant to meet this as they are unsure as to whether he will be able to replicate his impressive form in the Premier League. Vitoria SC are understandably not willing to budge on this price which means the deal could collapse.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the Irons will be able to play their usual game of waiting for the club to drop their price over fears of not getting a payday at all as Jose Mourniho’s Fenerbahce are ready to swoop in.

You can only assume that Silva would prefer a move to the Premier League over a move to Turkey, especially considering he’s agreed terms already, but it’s also unlikely that he’d turn down playing under such a highly respected manager. If Tim Steidten does want him in claret and blue he needs to act fast.
