An interesting twist in the tale of an unhappy Hammer who is seemingly desperate to leave the club.

As much as West Ham have a wonderful fanbase at times who many players fall in love with, not everyone enjoys their time in East London. Maybe it’s due to the area, maybe it’s due to not being the sort of player that fits in at the club, or it could be something else entirely.

Unfortunately, it seems like the Hammers have one such player on their hands who is desperate to leave the club this Summer, according to Claret and Hugh: Nayef Aguerd.

The Moroccan hasn’t exactly had an easy ride since joining two years ago. Despite having some brilliant qualities on paper, he’s been a liability in defence as he’s not been able to cut the mistakes out of his game. It seems like he wasn’t the biggest fan of David Moyes’ style of football either which only added to his discontent.

It seems like both parties believe it’s best he moves on in the coming months, but the centre-back is clearly doing everything in his power to secure a move away. He has now changed his agent to CanteraSport who were clearly trying to attract interest in their announcement of the signing by strangely labelling the 28-year-old as a “promising centre-back”.

Interestingly, this is the same agency that Kurt Zouma is with, another player who has been heavily rumoured to be on the move. Although it’s purely speculative, perhaps Aguerd joined them on the advice of his defensive partner that they will be able to secure him a good deal when signing for another club.
