Said Benrahma looks set to become West Ham’s first major sale of the summer as he closes in on a €15m move to Lyon.

The Algerian winger joined Lyon on February 2nd, a day after the transfer window closed due to a hold-up in administration. The French side reportedly paid a £5.1 million loan fee, with an option to buy of £12.3m.

Benrahma impressed in his short stint in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. scoring three goals and providing three assists in ten Ligue 1 starts.

Lyon look set to trigger the buy option in the coming days, which will also include a 10% sell-on clause for the Hammers. The Red and Blues have recently had a transfer embargo lifted, they have moved quickly and look set to wrap up deals for Nottingham Forest duo Orel Mangala and Moussa Niakhate.

This is a huge boost to West Ham’s transfer kitty with more to come from the potential sales of Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma to follow.

Benrahma will always be looked on fondly by West Ham fans, he always had a brilliant relationship with the Claret and Blue Army, and not one of us will forget his goal in the Conference League final.
